We’re looking for a hands-on Business Operations Manager to own supplier management, purchasing execution, operational processes, and facilities so our engineering team can move fast.
What You’ll Do
- Identify, qualify, and manage suppliers for spacecraft components, subsystems, testing services, and supporting hardware. Build and maintain a reliable, responsive supplier base.
- Execute purchases in close coordination with engineering leads and accounting. Negotiate pricing, payment terms, quality requirements, and aggressive lead times.
- Establish and continuously improve business processes that enable rapid execution while preserving flexibility for engineering design changes and iterative builds.
- Manage company facilities, including shipping and receiving, maintenance, cleaning, layout improvements, and facility upgrades that support hardware development and testing.
- Serve as the operational bridge between engineering, finance, and external partners to keep hardware moving from design through integration and test.
What We’re Looking For
- Supply chain experience with direct supplier interface, qualification, and negotiation of commercial terms.
- Hands-on experience in operations, logistics, or supply chain within a fast-paced manufacturing, hardware engineering, or aerospace environment.
- Degree or equivalent experience in industrial engineering, operations, finance, accounting, or a related field.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to balance process discipline with the speed and flexibility required in a hardware startup.
- Comfort working closely with engineers and translating technical needs into clear procurement and operational actions.
Preferred
- Prior experience with aerospace, defense, or complex electromechanical hardware.
- Familiarity with quality, configuration management, or export-control considerations in a hardware environment.
- Demonstrated ability to stand up or improve operational systems in a growing company.
